This speech by Karl Schröder was held on second day of the 1. Regular Congress of the KAPD the 1.-4. August 1920 in Berlin.

The Congress was attended by about 70 persons, of which 56 delegates represented about 40.000 members from all over Germany. 43 delegates were were approved as entitled to vote at the Congress.

Related to this Congress are:

Program der KAPD (English: Progamme of the KAPD) from Mai 1920. This was a draft version made by the central committee of the Party shortly after its founding Congress at   ... The 1.st Regular Congress was supposed to adopt this program, but did so only with some suggestions for further changes. 

Aufruf and das Proletariat Deutschlands (English: Appeal to the Proletariat of Germany), which was adopted by the Congress on the 4.th of August 1920.

The Appeal to the Proletariat of Germany and the present Referat über die politische Lage  -  English: Report on the Political Situation  -  was not on the initial agenda, but decided during the actual course of the debates on the Congress.
