This account on 'Jan Appel - ein deutscher Rätekommunist im niederländischen Exil und Widerstand 1926-1948' was originally a speech held by Hubert van den Berg on th 24.th of Mai 1997 on a workshop on anarchists, anarcho-syndicalists, council communists and trotzkyists in the German Resistence held by Freie Universität Berlin and Gedenkstätte deutscher Wiederstand.
