This 'Bericht der nach Moskau entsandten Delegation' was the official account made by Jan Appel and Franz Jung on their visit to Moscow in the summer of 1920 to discuss and clarify the positions of the KAPD with the leading bodies of the III. International.
The journey itself was difficult and adventurous. Without money and proper visa they set out as hidden passengers on board a steaming fisher boat, the 'Senator Schröder', from Cuxhaven. Together with the saylor Herman Knüfgen they conquered the ship in the North Sea and forced it to go around Noway to Murmansk. From there they made it by trains to Moscow. - Later this spectacular act forced both Appel and Jung to live under ground in Germany for several years until they were finally arrested.
As nothing was heard from this first delegation for some time the KAPD sent a second delegation consisting of Otto Rühle and August Merges to Moscow in order to ensure the establishment of contact and negotiations for the participation of the KAPD on the second Congress of the III. International. This delegation acutally reached Moscow first. - Otto Rühle's account of this was published after his return as 'Report from Moscow', in which he sharply critized the leadership of the III. International and advocated a clear break with this organization.
Jan Appel and Franz Jung did however reach Moscow and had a series of meetings with the Executive Commitee of the III. International.
This official report was dated 9.th of Juli 1920 and published anonymously as part of a special KAPD-pamphlet titled:

As far as known the Appel/Jung-account of their meetings in Moscow was never republished during the time of the KAPD.
A transcript from the original pamphlet was made in the 1980'ies by the Norwegian Motiva-forlag and circulated in small numbers within groups and individuals connected to the Exchange & Movement-network.
In 1997 it was republished in the German journal
