The Kommunistische Arbeiter-Partei Deutschlands, KAPD, was formed in the spring of 1920 as a split of the majority oppositional fractions of the KPD(Spartakus) as this organization - following the directives of the III. International - prepared for 'revolutionary parliamentarism' and working within the old trade unions.
The Allgemeine Arbeiter-Union, AAU, was formed during the winter and spring 1919-1920 as a revolutionary federation of radicalized and selforganized workplace organizations of militant workers in opposition to the trade unions.
This poster was published jointly by the KAPD and the AAU in connection with the campaigns around the election to the first German Reichtag in june 1920.
